Not ready at present
Can load and test individual cells automatically
Should be able to test cells a lot faster
Could be inserted in a cell testing / battery production line
Could be later equipped with other modules, such as a pack assembly module, etc
What has been done :
- First mechanical base (prototype) with 3-axis actuator and clamp (Clément)
What should be changed / improved :
- Clamp is not ideal
- Contact is not ideal, should be 4-wire
What is still to be done :
- Coding and validating AI spectrography experimentally (could be validated independently of the mechanical frame)
Opportunities :
- Could reduce cell testing time by orders of magnitude, thus reducing cost
- Automated cell feeding and output would reduce a lot of manual operations which are costly and error prone
Threats :
- Spectrography + AI is yet to be tested
- It requires a lot of training data, so could be done when we already have tested 1000s of cells
